Communion

At ALBC we believe that there are two ordinances that the local church has been given by Jesus, those being baptism and communion.

Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is an ordinance prescribed for the church by Jesus at the Last Supper with His disciples. As part of that meal, Jesus took Bread and broke it as a sign of His body that was going to be broken on the cross. He also took the cup of wine and gave it to His disciples to drink as a sign of His blood that was going to be shed confirming the new covenant. He commanded the disciples to do this (take bread and the cup) often in remembrance of Him.

In light of that command, at ALBC,  we take communion once a month, usually on the 4th Sunday of the month. Communion is an opportunity for believers, people who have trusted in the finished work of Christ on the cross, to remember what Jesus has done for them.

If you want to learn more about what we believe about Communion, or have questions regarding the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we would invite you to talk with one of the elders. They would love the opportunity to talk with you.
