ALBC Newsletter

Merry Christmas, ALBC Family!

And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;
for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,
to give his people the knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins,
because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven
to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the path of peace.
— Luke 1:76-79

These words were spoken of baby John the Baptist by his father, Zechariah.  I love that God went to the trouble of preparing hearts for the coming of His Son, Jesus.  You can sense the anticipation that this righteous man of God felt as he personally watched God's plan unfold within his very own family.  May we approach this Christmas season with that same sense of anticipation regarding what God can do within our lives and that of our loved ones.  Only Jesus can shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, guiding our feet into the path of peace.

This Sunday, you will find invitations for our Community Christmas Service and Happy Birthday, Jesus Party for children on December 20th in your bulletins.  Plan now who you will give that invitation!  Need more than one?  There will be extras in the lobby!

During this season of giving, ALBC is collecting baby items as a gift to The Genesis Crisis Pregnancy Center of Pottstown.  While you are out this weekend, why not pick up a few bottles, pacifiers or baby lotion?  A complete list of items needed can be found on our Facebook page.

Our family is looking forward to Christmas caroling on Monday, December 14th, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Pottstown at 7 p.m.  Alicia Adams is organizing this event, so please let her know if you can come at

This Sunday, there will be lots of Christmas music and a communion service.  Come out to celebrate this special time of year and all of its meaning with us!

See you Sunday,
Pastor Randy
