2019-03-29 Elder Update

Dear Abundant Life,

We have several things to update you on, so thank you in advance for taking the time to read this email…

EASTER EVENTS

Egg Hunt: Plans are well underway for our Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 13th at 10am. Please be sure to invite your friends and neighbors to this event. If you are on Facebook, you can share our event by clicking here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2176428199285300/

If you have yet to sign up to help, please see the Cheke or Bruton families this weekend! We’d love to see this be a true church-wide outreach event.

Let’s also be praying for the new families that we’ll get to meet that day.

Seder Meal: Please join ALBC as we celebrate a Passover meal (Seder) together on Friday April 19th at 7 pm at Providence.  As we partake in the meal, we will be talking about how the Israelite's freedom from Egypt foreshadowed Jesus' saving grace on the cross, looking at both the Old and New Testament. This is a free event, and you are welcome to bring guests. Please sign up in the lobby and be sure to note if you will need childcare.

If you have any questions, see John Supplee or Gary Rader.

Easter Sunday: We are looking forward to a joint Easter Service with our friends at Providence at 9am on April 28th. The children of Grace Place will share a song followed by a time of worship lead by ALBC. We will also observe communion together lead by Pastor Curtis from Providence followed by a message from Pastor Tim Doering. It will be an exciting time together as we celebrate the free gift of salvation made possible by Jesus’ death and resurrection. Come celebrate with us!

Be sure to bring a friend!

Pastoral Search Update

Thank you for continuing to pray for the ongoing pastoral search! The search team is still considering candidates, and we ask that as a church we continue to ask the Lord for His ongoing wisdom and leading. Much work, prayer and discernment is going into this process.

Let’s also continue to pray for our future pastor and his family as they approach a season of transition in their lives.

April Preaching Schedule

3/31-Courage Dhliwayo

4/7-Gary Radar

4/14-Keith Yoder

4/21-Tim Doering

Baptism

If you or someone you know would be interested in following the Lord in baptism, please let a member of the elder team know or talk to Pastor Keith. We would be happy to talk with them about this!

May Core Meeting

Our next ALBC Core Members Meeting will be Sunday, May 5th at 2pm. We’ll be sharing updates on the business of the church and other things the elder team has been working on.  Anyone who calls Abundant Life their church home is welcome to attend.

Service Start Time

Our worship teams have been doing at great job starting our services promptly at 9am. Let’s all do our part to join together in a spirit of worship by being present and in our seats ready to begin with the team promptly at 9am. This will also help the overall flow of our service and ensure our speakers have as much time as possible to share what the Lord has laid on their hearts each week.

Thanks for reading! If you have any questions comments or concerns please feel free to share them with any of the elders.

Jeremiah 17:7-8
But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
